Old Windsor

Just about a mile and half to Windsor and a similar distance to Runnymede (signing of the Magna Carta) we are located in the village that was the site of the original castle before the Normans went and moved it to (new) Windsor! There’s still a lovely Norman church hidden down by the river here.

Parking no problem. We have excellent links to the motorway network and Heathrow Airport. Excellent access to London by rail or road. Buses stop literally across the road on the 71 route that goes from Windsor to Heathrow. It really is an excellent location. Apart from our locality near Windsor and Eton there are so many terrific day trips to places like Hampton Court or the unmissable Oxford City

Cycle path into Windsor - check and see if our bikes are available or bring your own for great exploration with plenty of cycle routes around the flat Thames area or venture up the hill and through the fabulous Royal Great Park. Ask us for packed lunch or buy yourself a picnic from one of the many shops or the Farmers’ Market held in Windsor on the 1st Saturday of each month.

Facilities and local places of interest

Local shops, pubs, a good Italian restaurant in the village or all tastes catered for in Windsor itself.

The Windsor Farm Shop is literally just up the road and is a popular place for a coffee and last minute presents.
